We Light the Way. For thousands of years, the Hightowers have ruled Oldtown, the oldest and greatest city in Westeros. Long before the Dragons came, before the Andals crossed the narrow sea, the Hightowers stood vigil.
They are one of the most powerful and wealthy of the great houses, possessing a fortune that rivaled even the Lannisters in their prime. Their seat, the Hightower, is a massive stepped tower with a beacon at the top that can be seen for leagues out to sea. It is taller than the Wall itself.
Legends say the tower was designed by Bran the Builder, while others claim its base of fused black stone was left by dragonlords of the Valyrian Freehold. The true origins are lost to the mists of time, but the power of the family remains absolute.
